American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT) has announced its Fifth Annual “25 Women Who RULE in Sales
and Marketing.” Among those named is Lauren L. Darr, President of LOI International, a marketing
communications company that has a niche market within the broadcast supply industry. Upon hearing about
being named to the list, Lauren commented, “What a pleasant surprise and honor to be associated with such an
amazing group of women from the broadcast industry. I’m truly humbled.”
Nominations were accepted from AWRT members and industry leaders and encompassed a broad array of women
from all facets of electronic media including radio, television, cable and web-based media. This year’s designees,
voted upon by AWRT members, will be featured in the third-quarter edition of AWRT’s national magazine, Making
Waves, which will focus editorially on electronic media and the shifting sales and marketing landscape. In a press
release, AWRT President Maria Brennan said, “AWRT is proud to once again showcase these exceptional women
in our upcoming issue of Making Waves. Their collective achievements honor our entire industry.”
Noteworthy marketing campaigns that Lauren has been involved in are the DTVExpress, a $34 million project to
educate TV stations on digital television and HDTV and “eXtreme digital,” a campaign to educate radio stations
on IBOC and HD Radio™. HD Radio is a trademark of ibiquity.
